SERVICE LIFE
As a result of its worldwide activities Magma Applications BV has gained in-depth experience of the treatment of different types of reed, grass and other thatching materials. The service life of Magma Firestop SG2H depends a lot on the place, age, thatching material and surroundings of the roof. Older roofs, where the top layer is of a lesser quality than a brand new roof, or Thatched roof buildings in a forestry surrounding will need more maintenance than roofs in an open field or on the coast.
Therefore Magma Applications BV developed a unique service system of tests and analysis to monitor the effectiveness of the fire retardant coating over time. After a Magma Firestop treatment we can guarantee a good fire retardant quality of the treated roof for a minimum period of three years. After these three years we are able to analyse the fire retardant quality of samples taken of the roof and when the quality is good enough we will extend the validity of the treatment certificate. Experience tells us that an average service life of five years is common.
